Join faculty, staff, and administrators from higher education institutions across Michigan and the region for colloquia focused on specific "hot topic" issues related to service-learning and civic engagement. These 1-2 day events provide valuable opportunities to learn from experts in the field and promote depth in practice of learning and engagement for the common good. Experts from a variety of academic disciplines and institutional positions have shared information and other resources. Previous MCC colloquia include "Academic Leadership for the engaged campus," "From Service to Citizenship," "Service-Learning and the Engaged Campus," and "Fundamentals of Service-Learning Course Design."

Mark Langseth, Assistant Vice President for University Development at Portland State University and former Executive Director of Minnesota Campus Compact led an exciting discussion with development and service administrative staff from around the state at Kalamazoo College! Discussing the motivations of each department and highlighting where they intersect led to a highly engaging workshop filled with new ideas as well as current successes from institutions across the country. It is clear that univeristy fundraisers and campus engagement departments have a lot of support to provide each other. Please contact Ryan Fewins, Assistant Director for Training and Technical Assistance for more information on this cutting-edge event.
