Campus Partners for Youth

In the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 academic years, MCC has offered six competitive grants of $30,000 to $40,000 each for MCC member faculty and/or staff to increase campus/community partnership efforts and develop 3 or more new courses or service projects or expand upon existing courses or service projects.  Grant funds are being used to foster sustainable institutional systems to address the needs of disadvantaged youth. Campus Partners for Youth Grants are renewable up to the 2008-2009 academic year.

Learn and Serve LogoThe Campus Partners for Youth program is made possible through a Learn and Serve Grant awarded to Michigan Campus Compact. In consortia with Michigan’s colleges and universities and in collaboration with statewide partners, this program will facilitate the implementation of service and service-learning projects through the Investing in College Futures Program. The initiative will benefit disadvantaged youth and positively reinforce the merits of higher education among current college students and disadvantaged youth. Support from the Corporation for National Community Service Learn and Serve will assist MCC to implement ICF and the sustainable service-learning projects it will generate, enhancing the educational landscape for current and future students.

ICF will involve more than 3,800 participants in three years, including alumni from the Baby Boom generation, and launch more than 126 service and/or service-learning projects. For more information about Investing in College Futures contact:
