Opening Plenary: Sam Singh
Sam Singh is a senior policy consultant with Public Policy Associates, a research and evaluation firm that focuses on strategic planning, nonprofit management and economic development. Previously, Sam served 10 years as President and CEO of Michigan Nonprofit Association. Sam recently completed a self-funded sabbatical that had him traveling to all seven continents and forty-six countries over a seventeen month period and will be speaking on the importance of civic engagement in a global community.

Lunch Plenary: Molly McCloskey
Molly McCloskey serves as a Managing Director, Whole Child Programs at ASCD, directing multiple components of the ASCD Whole Child Initiative, a multi-year, cross-organizational program, including member and non-member outreach and engagement, ASCD'S Healthy School Communities Program, and development of capacity-building resources and services. Molly will be discussing service-learning in the K-12 setting.

Service-Learning & Community Service Awards Ceremony & Dinner
Join us for dinner, entertainment and an awards ceremony on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Grand Traverse Resort in the Michigan Ballroom. Awards will be given to K-12 educators and Higher Education Faculty and/or staff. Additionally, the winner of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Award for Campus-Community Collaboration will be announced - this is MCC's premiere award, which honors the winners with $10,000 that is divided equally between the campus and the community partner.
 
Tickets must be purchased in advance for this event at a cost of $30 per ticket.

Closing Lunch Plenary: Dr. John Seita and Peter Ruei
Peter Ruei is an undergraduate student at Western Michigan University majoring in Aviation Science with a minor in Business Administration. Formally a Sudanese refugee, Peter came to the United States in 2000. He is a recipient of the John Seita Scholarship at WMU and will speak along with Dr. John Seita on the program, as well as address access to higher education for young people in the foster care system.
