Applying for an MCC AmeriCorps*VISTA Position
The Michigan Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA program helps to connect college campuses with community members promoting service-learning, volunteerism and civic engagement on college campuses. Each year, positions are available for college graduates interested in serving on a college campus engaging students and faculty in service. Duties may include alternative break planning, coordinating with faculty for curriculum, solidifying service on campus, etc. The position is a one-year commitment. It can act as a great stepping stone position as well as a good way to earn money for graduate school or to repay debt on federal loans.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying to our Program
- Fill out an AmeriCorps application online, found here and click ‘Apply to Serve’ or check out www.americorps.org for more information on National Service or VISTA.
- After completing the application (please be advised that the application is considered complete after two references have been submitted online), please submit your application to Michigan Campus Compact via a search tool. Please note: you will only be able to submit a completed application to MCC.
- After your application has been submitted, there will be a preliminary 30-45 minute interview with the VISTA Leader. The application will then be sent to interested host campuses and they will contact the applicant for a second interview.
- After all interviews have taken place, we will offer positions and the start date will be at the end of July and the term of service will run exactly twelve months.
